Artist Statement

I am a figurative painter currently focused on oyster farmers and their work in Wellfleet, Cape Cod and the flats at low tide where they farm. I work in water-based oils and charcoal from my photographs and sketches. My love for this place began during my childhood summers in Wellfleet when the flats were my playground. My work matters because it honors the contributions of the men and women laboring in an industry that is intrinsic to the history of Wellfleet.
